SUITABILITY

Is this work for you?

First and foremost, if you are seeking Psychological services for an emotional or mental health issue you are in the right place. If you have been referred by a doctor, or you seek a Medicare or private health rebate our clinic can accommodate this.

If you are looking for a traditional or mainstream form of clinical psychology then our practice may not be a fit, but if you are looking for a Psychology practice that uses a transpersonal approach we can support.

Our Psychologists are not only qualified to support your mental health with Medicare approved techniques like CBT, we can also understand and validate your experiences/concerns from a spiritual and psycho-spiritual development perspective.

We work in a way that bridges the divide between clinical science and your deeper personal exploration, healing and development. Our ethos is to honour the core of your being, hold the space in a sacred way, and relate to you in a soulful, sensitive, authentic manner.

You may find yourself to be a match for our work if you:

  • Are oriented towards your personal and spiritual growth, self-understanding, self-awareness, and self-responsibility. You are perhaps in a seeking or searching phase of life.

  • Have a sense that the ground of your identity rests deeper than that of the personality or ego

  • Have had transpersonal experiences that you need to integrate psychologically so that you are not splitting off or unable to take the benefits of those experiences into daily life. (Transpersonal experiences may sometimes occur, for example, through grief, trauma, childbirth, near-death experience, life-threatening illness, through spiritual practice, peak experiences, or induced altered states of consciousness.)

  • You are interested in allowing yourself to let go of defensive strategies, transference and projection to allow authentic self-leadership presence to do the job of relating instead. You are open to compassionately address what those strategies or sub personality structures might be protecting.

  • Find you are highly sensitive

  • You value not just therapeutic intervention based on evidence-based techniques but also the relational aspect of treatment, e.g., feel met, seen, understood.

  • You may have a spiritual practice that you understand to be connected to your mental health and would like to work within the context of this bridge.
